Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) announces RRB NTPC exam notification every year under Centralized Employment notice. The exam conducted to select candidates for Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) graduate and undergraduate posts.The posts under RRB NTPC recruitment includes Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. Exam Notification

Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) releases official Notification for recruitment of NTPC posts from eligible candidates who must be citizens of India.Notification of RRB NTPC exam contains all the relevant information regarding exam, eligibility criteria, age limit, nationality etc.

Exam Pattern

The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/Medical Examination. Selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of above mentioned recruitment stages.

The recruitment process will involve the following stages of examination

  • 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable)
  • Document Verification/Medical Examination

Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable)

(Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master)

Qualifying marks:

  • The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
  • This is applicable to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.
  • The CBAT shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
  • There shall be no negative marking in CBAT.
  • Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

  • It is Qualifying in nature.
  • Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for typing test.
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.

Document Verification (DV)

Based on the performance of candidates in 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

RRB NTPC Qualification

Educational Qualification

  • For undergraduate posts candidates must have passes 12 or 10+2
  • For graduate posts candidate must be graduate from a recognised university.

Age limit       

  • For 7th CPC Level 2 and 3 undergraduate level posts, candidates should be between 18 to 30 years.
  • For CPC Level 4, 5 and 6 (Graduate level Posts), the age of candidates should be between 18 to 33 years.

RRB NTPC Cut-off 2019 for CBT 1

The cut-off for this stage is released based on the marks scored in General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence and Reasoning. RRB NTPC cut off for CBT 1 is calculated out of 100 marks. Based on the cut off marks for this stage, candidates 20 times the number of vacancies are selected for the CBT 2 Candidates can check below the expected cut-off for this stage:

RRB NTPC Cut-off 2019 for CBT 2

The cut-off for this stage is calculated of 120 marks. Candidates who will secure RRB NTPC Cut off 2019 in CBT 2 are shortlisted for document verification, Typing Skill Test/Computer based Aptitude Test (CBAT).

RRB NTPC Cut-off 2019 for CBAT

This stage is conducted for of Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) posts. Candidates 8 times the number of vacancies based on their performance in CBT 2 are shortlisted for this stage. The qualifying marks prescribed for this stage is 42 which candidates need to secure in each test battery. To shortlist candidates for document verification, the examination authority will fix the cut off marks for this stage.

RRB NTPC Cut-off 2019 for Typing Skill Test (TST)

The typing skill test is conducted for Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) posts. To qualify this stage, candidates need to secure the cut-off marks.

RRB NTPC Cut-off 2019 for Document Verification

Candidates are called for document verification based on their performance in CBT 2 and CBAT/TST (as per the posts). The examination authority decides RRB NTPC Cut off marks to call candidates for document verification. Candidates clearing the document verification are called for Medical Fitness Test.

RRB NTPC Cut-off Marks – Normalisation Process

RRB NTPC cut off are calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method.

Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India etc.
