SBI PO Exam Highlights
State Bank of India is the leading bank of India and it is a dream of many candidates to be a part of this prestigious institution. The 3-tier selection process consists of Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by Interview. Candidates must pass each exam to get shortlisted and enter to the next stage. Final selection will be based on merit.To qualify for the interview, candidates must clear prelim and main examinations. After clearing the all three tier exam,candidates will be posted as a probationary officer (PO) anywhere in India.
The institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a common recruitment test for the posts of PO every year. It gives a golden chance to all the job aspirants who wish to make a career in the government banking sector. Notification of SBI PO exam contains all the relevant information regarding exam, eligibility criteria, age limit, nationality etc.
The structure of exams is as follows:
Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination
This is an online examination where the candidates must solve the question paper in one hour for 100 marks. The test consists of 3 sections. Candidates must know that the sectional cut-off in the Preliminary Exam has been removed and the overall score of all the sections will be considered for selection to the next round. The section-wise division of the marks is given below:

0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate. No deduction will be there in marks if a question is left unattempted or blank by a candidate.Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Exam. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering 10 times the numbers of vacancies (approx.) in each category will be short listed for Main Examination from the top of above merit list.
SBI PO Qualification
The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination.
Candidates with Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before required date. Candidates with Chartered Accountant certification may also apply.
The candidate must be 21 Years to 30 Years.Age relaxation of 5 years is given to candidates belonging to SC and ST. The candidates belonging to OBC categories are given an age relaxation of 3 years.

Number of Attempts:
The maximum number of chances are fixed for each category. Candidates who have used up all the chances are not eligible to apply. Appearing in Preliminary Exam is not counted as an attempt but appearing in Mains Exam is counted.
